They're a department of one and they don't have the time. Their board or their boss thinks social media is a waste of time. They they need to participate in social media but they don't know where to start or what to do and have no time to waste in explorations. The result is that senior managers at nonprofit organizations leave it to young, enthusiastic but inexperienced digital natives whose social media experience has been motivate by social and not organizational objectives.
