Media Training at Your Convenience

Our Media Training Workshops and Webinars are designed for people who want to keep their media relations and communication skills sharp.

Below you'll find feedback by past participants, background on me, the workshop instructor, and detailed information about each workshop when you select the link to the workshop of interest.

As soon as your registration is completed, I will send you instructions on how to access and download the workshop or webinar resource materials. Many participants report they are worth the cost of the workshop or webinar alone.

Custom Workshops and Individual Tutorials If the group workshops and webinars do not suit your schedule, you might consider registering for a custom workshop for your group or a three hour tutorial for yourself on any of our workshop or webinar topics. I offer in-person and online tutorials at your convenience -- weekdays, weekends or evenings -- and guarantee satisfaction or your money refunded. For more information, select the Custom Training link on the menu to your right or call me for more information at (780) 695-5675. I'd be happy to help you determine if I can be of service to you!

If you have a general question about the media training workshops and webinars, please see the FAQs in the Online Help Desk. If you have questions about a specific workshop after you are registered, please call me or submit a support ticket. If it's appropriate, I might add your question and our answer to the FAQs section, with your approval of course.

Early Bird Registrations

Early bird registrationDon’t wait until the last minute to register or you might miss the opportunity. I cancel undersubscribed webinars and workshops and reward those who don't wait until the last minute to register. If you register before the early bird date listed in the workshop description you'll buy more time and save more money

There are two more benefits to not waiting until the last minute to register: 1) you'll be able to download and review the resource materials before the session and 2) I will have a chance to review your website in advance of the workshop so I can get an idea about your organization before we meet and perhaps use your company as a case study.

Trying to decide whether a workshop or webinar?

Here's the basic differences:

Webinars:

Workshops:

  • Delivers “just-in-time” training with “what’s needed” training
  • Enhances and supports job performance
  • Eliminates common barriers to learning
  • Allows busy professionals to quickly keep current within their industry
  • Generally run for two hours from 10 to noon every second Tuesday
  • Minimizes time away from the home or job
  • Shared webinar format reduces the cost of training
  • Face-to-face training and networking with peers
  • Allows professionals to quickly learn new skills in a half day or full day format
  • Good for those who prefer to learn without office distractions
  • An interactive question and answer session during lunch
  • Ideal for those who prefer a more tactical learning experience
  • Generally run for three hours from 10 to 1pm every second Thursday in Edmonton & Calgary
  • Learn during lunch format maximizes training investment and minimizes your time away from the office
  • Workshops are offered in a convenient central downtown location
  • Meeting new colleagues in person is the biggest reason you like workshops
  • Shared workshop format makes media training affordable
The workshops and webinars have one main thing in common...
They are designed especially for baby boomers, entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations and anyone else who wants to keep their media and communications skills sharp.
